Regal Bank will welcome town historian and local author Joseph Fagan to sign copies of his latest book, "Stories of West Orange," from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the bank's West Orange branch, located at 641 Eagle Rock Avenue.
"At Regal Bank, we're huge fans of local history and events that build community pride," said Tina Parsons, Assistant Vice President & Branch Manager. "West Orange is one of New Jersey's most loved communities, and Joseph Fagan's remarkable stories and pictures from the past reveal why."
Through nine chapters, 144 pages and 70 rare photos, "Stories of West Orange" chronicles the lives of those who helped shape West Orange into the town it is today. The book, published by the History Press of South Carolina and released in May of 2014, will be available for purchase at Regal Bank for $19.99.
Joseph Fagan has family roots that span over four generations in West Orange. Raised and educated in town, he is also the author of "Eagle Rock Reservation" and "West Orange, NJ Postcard History," both of which will also be available for purchase at the book signing.
The June 26 event will include light refreshments. As a special treat for attendees, Fagan will also share tales and insights about the nine historic community photos hanging in Regal Bank's main lobby. Included in the impressive collection are photos of American inventor Thomas Edison in his West Orange factory and with the first graduating class of West Orange High School in 1926. The latter was chosen for the cover of Fagan's new book.
Space is limited. Those interested in attending the book signing are invited to RSVP by e-mail to email@example.com.
