LIVINGSTON, NJ - Two-time U.S. Presidential candidate Steve Forbes, the current chair and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media, was the guest speaker at a recent Regal Bank breakfast event. Held in the Westminster Hotel in Livingston, the networking session drew a capacity crowd of more than 350 attendees, all of whom where there by special invitation.
Forbes, who spoke and answered audience questions for a total of 45 minutes, focused on economic matters, with a particular emphasis on the need for the nation's economy to further accelerate. In fact, he incorporated a superhighway analogy into his remarks.
"Mr. Forbes is an exceptional speaker, and many of those in attendance commented to me just how interesting and valuable they found his perspective to be," said Regal Bank Chairman David Orbach. "Overall, this was a terrific event -- it's always a pleasure to spend time with our customers and prospective customers. People are already looking forward to our next event."
The two-hour Regal Bank event was specifically designed to provide customers, as well as business and community leaders, an opportunity to meet and establish connections. It was an opportunity for the bank to thank its long-standing supporters. Attendees were on hand from throughout the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area.
"Events like this one can be extremely valuable in terms of making new contacts -- but I had no idea there'd be a turnout of this magnitude," observed Al Fontanella, partner in the Totowa-based accounting firm Fontanella & Babitts. "It was an excellent investment of my time, and I'm looking forward to Regal sponsoring similar, follow-up events."
Forbes, a Republican, participated in the Presidential primaries in 1996 and again in 2000.
