Livingston's 15th Annual
Youth Appreciation Week
May 24, 2010


Monday, May 24th - 7:00 p.m.

LTV Livingston Live Kick-Off: Watch LIVE on Cable Channel 34 or FiOS Channel 26 There will be interviews with the individuals involved in each of the events highlighting event details. Performers from the Children's Theatre of Livingston (CTL) will kick off the week with an encore performance from their show Honk! Jr.

Tuesday, May 25th - 4:00-9:00 p.m.
Livingston Love-In Outdoor Festival at the Town Center
The rain date is Friday, May 28th.

Wednesday, May 26th
8:00 a.m. - VFW Silent Service at Livingston High School (not open to the public)
7:00-8:00 p.m. - Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) Youth Sports Clinic for children with special needs of all ages at the Monmouth Court Community Center (26 Monmouth Court), co-sponsored by West Essex YMCA

Thursday, May 27th
6:00 p.m. - "Open Mike Night" for high school age teens at the Gazebo at the Oval with music and games (in the case of rain, this event will be held in the Livingston High School Auditorium)
7:00-7:45 p.m. - Children's program at the Livingston Library featuring nationally renowned storyteller, LuAnn Adams. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please call the library at 973-992-4600.

Friday, May 28th
3:00-5:00 p.m. - "Great Mall Mystery Fun Hunt" at the Livingston Mall for children ages 3-13 years accompanied by a chaperone (participants will meet at the Mall's Center Court on the Lower Level)
3:30-6:00 p.m. - Livingston Youth and Community Services (LYCS) Peer to Peer Teen Conference at the Senior Community Center (204 Hillside Avenue)
6:00-9:00 p.m. - Parent's Night Out - Children ages 3 -12 years will participate in supervised and guided activities at the Senior Community Center while parents go out on the town; pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please go on-line to and click on the Senior, Youth & Leisure Services link or visit their office at the Senior Community Center at 204 Hillside Ave.

Saturday, May 29th
10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. - Family Festival Day at the Oval
Some events to look for are Obstacle courses, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Adopt a Pet, a Performance by Dave Street featuring his highly acclaimed "Clean Communities Program" and many more surprises.Plan a full day of fun at the Oval which will again include the "Classic Car Show;" In the event of rain, most events will move inside to Livingston High School.

4:00-6:00 p.m. - "Bike Rodeo" presented by the Livingston Police Department and the Livingston Robotics Club, ride or bring your bike and have fun learning the rules of the road Registration is at 3:00 p.m. at the new high school parking lot on Madonna Drive.

8:30-10:00 p.m. - Movie Under the Stars at the Oval - "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs."

Sunday, May 30th
7:00 a.m. - The "Raise the Circus Tent" event at the Livingston Eisenhower Corporate Campus at the Livingston Circle
Circus Times: 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. - Circus at the Livingston Eisenhower Corporate Campus at the Livingston Circle

Monday, May 31st
9:30 a.m. - Livingston's Memorial Day Ceremonies at the Oval
10:00 a.m. - Memorial Day Parade down Livingston Avenue.
Circus Times: 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. - Circus at the Livingston Eisenhower Corporate Campus at the Livingston Circle

Volunteers are needed to help set up tomorrow for the Livingston Love-In (please come to the Town Center by 3:00 p.m.) and the Family Festival on Saturday, May 29th (please plan to be there by 9:30 a.m.).
